Following the grand tradition of my childhood, I decided that this year the girls needed to dye Easter eggs. Well, I think I understand why Mom always seemed to be stressed out and worried when we were coloring our eggs. The girls hands seemed to mulitple like crazy, and I think their arms became like Inspector Gadget's, where nothing was out of their reach! They thought it was all very exciting, and I am pleased to report that nothing except eggs were permantely dyed!

Easter Egg Hunt

I have several Easter posts to put on here. This is the Easter Egg Hunt that the girls went to on Sat. They had a ton of fun, and didn't seem to notice the cold nearly as much as their Mommy did (of course, they did have three layers of clothes on). Kerri looked like she was going to topple over every time she bent over to get an egg. They jumped around in the moonbounce, had their hunt (where they each won a prize and got way too much candy), ate hot dogs and more candy for lunch, and then passed out in the car on the way home. The girls were defintely pros. They took right off and began snatching up as many eggs as they could right from the beginning. (Competitive, not greedy, right?!)

Cutie Pies!
Just had a couple of cute pictures that I wanted to show off. Check out Kerri's first hair bow. Hurray! She is finally starting to get a little bit of hair. She is so cute and always wants me to fix her hair when she sees me doing Emma Lee's. The next picture is of the girls showing off their new sunglasses - so cute. The last picture is just a cute shot of the girls cuddling. They are becoming so crazy about each other. Emma Lee has been trying to pick up and carry Kerri (who only weighs about five pounds less than she does). She also loves to refer to Kerri as "my sister" - My sister wants some more juice. My sister wants to go outside. I love my sister . . . Kerri calls Emma Lee "Sissy" most of the time - the closest she has come to saying her name is something that sounds like "Emmie." They are just too precious!

First Sleepover

I just thought that this was super cute and had to show you all this picture. Andy and I checked on the girls before we went to bed the other night. What we saw was sooo cute, I had to run get the camera. Emma Lee had climbed into Kerri's crib, and they ended up falling asleep together. Aren't they just too precious?!

Baby Artists

So, I got really brave (or stupid, sometimes I can't tell which one!) the other day and decided to pull out the paint and let the girls have some fun art time. Emma Lee has painted before, and she did a great job, really enjoyed it, and was not too messy (when Kerri was too young to know what was going on - now she has to be involved in everything "Sissy" does). Anyway, I thought that they would have fun, which they did. The problem was that Kerri still puts everything in her mouth. (I'm beginning to wonder if its ever going to stop. She will probably be walking down the aisle at her wedding, stuffing her bouquet in her mouth.) So, she lasted for about 3 seconds before she decided that it would be much more fun to paint the inside of her mouth and her face than that plain, old, boring paper. Well, they had a blast and the paint is non-toxic, but I think it will probably be a while before we make anymore
attempts at becoming artists.

A Day at the Park

Last week we had a couple of days that were so perfect we couldn't resist spending them outside. On Andy's day off, we decided to go to Blue Jay Point and have a picnic. The girls had a great time playing on the three playgrounds they have there, then we had a little picnic, and headed off in the woods on a trail to the lake. We had a great time, and the girls were completely worn out. I have a feeling that we are going to being spending the majority of our days outside this spring/summer. Kerri begs to go "outsi, outsi" whenever she catches a glismpse through the window/door.

Museum of Life & Science
We had a fun trip to the museum this past week. I was surprised about how much they had for
a variety of ages. The girls really had a great time, almost as much fun as their daddy. (I think that he sometimes forgot that the experiments and activities were for the kids!) Along with all the typical science project type exhibits, they also have a outdoor play area, a petting zoo section, and the girls favorite, a butterfly house and a large insect exhibit (definitely, not Mommy's favorite part). Emma Lee was a little frightened by the dinosaur display (not even realistic looking, but really big), but fascinated by all the bugs and spiders ( all too real) - go figure. The one cool part about all the bugs was they had a caterpillar in a display case with a microphone and camera that you could zoom in and rotate. You could actually hear him eating the leaf and see his little mouth chomping away and the leaf disappearing like corn on the cob. It was neat because, lately, one of Emma Lee's favorite books has been The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The highlight was definitely the butterfly house, although Mommy and Daddy didn't want to stay in there for too long (it was a very humid 80+ degrees in there). We will have to go back soon because there was so much t
o see. Hope you enjoy the pics!
