Museum of Life & Science

We had a fun trip to the museum this past week. I was surprised about how much they had for a variety of ages. The girls really had a great time, almost as much fun as their daddy. (I think that he sometimes forgot that the experiments and activities were for the kids!) Along with all the typical science project type exhibits, they also have a outdoor play area, a petting zoo section, and the girls favorite, a butterfly house and a large insect exhibit (definitely, not Mommy's favorite part). Emma Lee was a little frightened by the dinosaur display (not even realistic looking, but really big), but fascinated by all the bugs and spiders ( all too real) - go figure. The one cool part about all the bugs was they had a caterpillar in a display case with a microphone and camera that you could zoom in and rotate. You could actually hear him eating the leaf and see his little mouth chomping away and the leaf disappearing like corn on the cob. It was neat because, lately, one of Emma Lee's favorite books has been The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The highlight was definitely the butterfly house, although Mommy and Daddy didn't want to stay in there for too long (it was a very humid 80+ degrees in there). We will have to go back soon because there was so much to see. Hope you enjoy the pics!
