Sugar, Spice, and Everything . . . Fishy?

Our summer has been CRAZY! I have an absolute ton of pictures that haven't even made it onto the computer yet, but such is life. I did want to share this cute little moment with you and promise (well, maybe) that more pictures/posts about our summer are soon to follow. Andy did several summer camps with different churches, and the girls and I tagged along with him on this last one up in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was almost like a vacation since (1) It wasn't our church, so we could come and go as we pleased with the kids and (2) Andy only had to preach in the evenings, so our days were fairly free. The girls absolutely LOVED the whole camp experience from the very first moment when they saw they got to sleep on bunk beds until the end when we had to carry their crying, upset-over-having-to-leave little selves to the car when it was time to go. But, on to the title of the post . . .
The girls had their first fishing experience and were very proud of their catches! It was the perfect fishing for a 3 & 4 year old. The lake was almost overflowing with fish. They fished with the tiniest hooks I've ever seen (making me feel slightly more comfortable about putting them in their hands) and bread (what?!). Well, whatever, it worked! The wait time for catching a fish was about 15 seconds! :)

They also swam in the same lake with the same fish . . . (notice I said "they"!) and literally "with." At one point, when it was just Kerri in the water, she had about 20 fish within an arms reach! Here she is using her goggles to look at them underwater.

Also, notice the very tall, very old, very rusty, very rickety (well rickety-looking) slide that I allowed them to use to slide right into the fishes' very favorite spot! Yeah, I'm just a great Mom like that . . . (no comments!) :)
Anyway, this is just proof (for those of you who had doubts) that my sweet-little-dress-wearing-princess-loving girls can get down and fishy with the best of them! :)

New Look!

Like the new look??
I FINALLY figured out how to change the template. Who knew it could be as simple as reading the "directions" . . .
I'm still not quite finished with all the little details . . . you'll just have to check back later :)
Also, to quote him, "mad props" go to my terrific hubby for customizing the banner for me! Thanks, Andy! I love you! :)

Siwwy Pwum

Our bedtime ritual with the girls involves reading a Bible story and a "silly poem" (siwwy pwum according to Kerri). Their book of choice is Riggleberry Bloke And Other Silly Whatknots
by Jon Slone (get your own copy here!). Seriously, I don't even know how many times we've read some of the poems! Their ALL TIME favorite is "Stormie Mol Bean." Let me introduce her to you, or better yet . . . I'll let the girls do it! After all, they have most of it memorized!

I'm just saying . . . Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven move over!

So, Emma Lee was sad that I recorded and posted a video of Kerri swimming and not her (No, I'm not showing favoritism- Emma Lee's learning to swim process was just not as sudden and dramatic as Kerri's). To be fair (and maybe to brag just a tad!), here's Emma Lee's latest and greatest accomplishment. I really do think that she's a natural. This is a video from her second day of playing the piano!

**Sorry it's not great lighting. I just did it with my regular camera b/c I don't know how to post video from my actual video camera. How sad is that?!

I'm just saying. . . .future Olympic swimmers beware!

Here's Kerri's new trick she learned at the beach this week. She's always been a little fish in the water, but this week she figured out how to put it all together! In typical Kerri fashion, once she got it figured out there was no stopping her. She has NO fear (which is scary to Mommy!). She would just take off and try to swim across the pool - whether I was ready for her to or not.

Help!!!

I'm frustrated, so I'm seeking outside help!! :) I've been trying in my "spare" time to change up my blog format, and nothing's working for me. Instead, I've even lost some of what I had already set up, and I'm afraid to fix it back for fear of losing everything again!!

Anyway, I'd love a cuter background to start with. I've tried the cutest blog on the block and pyzam, and I can't get either to work. Any suggestions??? I'd really love to design my own, but I'm afraid of putting too much time into something that I won't be able to get to work.
