Little Fishies

I can't believe that it is the end of June already! The girls have pretty much been living outside. I think that they are part fish, part monkey, with just a little bit of girl thrown in. Kerri especially knows no limits. She hasn't grown much lately, so she is pretty small for her age, but she doesn't know it. If Emma Lee does something, Kerri has to do it and do it more often, faster, crazier, or whatever. Here are just a few pictures of some of the fun that they have had at the pool, lake, & our backyard this summer.

Emma Lee's First Haircut

Emma Lee went to get her first haircut today. On the way she was a little confused, I could almost hear her thoughts remembering all the times I have drilled it in to her head that we are not supposed to cut hair (she had a little incident several months ago when she discovered a pair of scissors in a drawer - fortunately not much damage was done, but Mommy was not happy!). Anyway, she was open to the idea, especially when I told her that afterwards she could show her pretty haircut off to everyone. She was such a good girl, she hopped right up into the chair (afterall, the lady was offering her what Emma Lee calls a "sucker ball" and what everyone else in the world calls a dum dum). It was quite possibly the quickest $10 I've ever spent (no, I didn't spring for the $20 haircut at the fancy just for kids place), it took longer to pay for the haircut than it took for the actual haircut! Basically, she just evened up the back some - it had been looking messyand I think that this will make it looker neater and maybe a little thicker. I think that next time Mommy might try her hand at haircutting, at least until she gets enough to actually do something with. Hopefully, Emma Lee won't get any bright ideas about trying her hand at it again either!

More Cherryville Pictures

Trip to Cherryville Part I

The girls, Ryan, Joshua and I all went to Cherryville this past weekend for Jeremy's 16th birthday. (Man! That is so hard to believe!) It was an exciting trip that actually went a lot smoother than I expected. Here are a "few" (I have so many cute ones it was hard to decide which ones to post!) pictures of them just playing and hanging out with their grandparents, aunts, and uncles. They also went to the Cherry Blossom festival and enjoyed getting their faces painted. (Emma Lee was real hesitant at first, but decided she wanted a butterfly on her face and that night after bathtime cried when she realized that it was gone. She kept asking where it went and if she could have it back.) It was a great weekend and the girls are ready to do it again!

The new arrival

Just wanted to introduce you to the new addition in the family. This is

our new nephew/cousin - baby James Richard Overall (Andy's sister's baby). Isn't he a cutie?!! He was born on April 23, weighing 6 pounds and 10 ounces and measuring 20 1/2 inches long. We are looking forward to meeting him (although it won't be until this summer). Congratulations Edie and Jason!

All dressed up . . .

This is the final installation of the Easter posts. To read them in order, scroll down and read the two previous post first. Here are pictures of the girls all dressed up in their fancy Easter dresses. The pictures really don't do them justice for how adorable they looked, but at least you get the idea. They were very excited about their little Easter baskets. We only had a minute for me to snap a couple of pictures before we had to rush out of the house in order to get to church on time. We didn't manage to get a family shot, and I couldn't get both of the girls together and looking and smiling at the same time, but here are the best of the shots I did get. There is also a picture from later in the afternoon. The girls got a wagon from their Grandma & Grandpapa and had to hop in and test it out right away. Needless to say, they loved it. They really had a wonderful Easter and hopefully they remember some of our numerous explainations for the reason we celebrate Easter.

Easter Eggs

Following the grand tradition of my childhood, I decided that this year the girls needed to dye Easter eggs. Well, I think I understand why Mom always seemed to be stressed out and worried when we were coloring our eggs. The girls hands seemed to mulitple like crazy, and I think their arms became like Inspector Gadget's, where nothing was out of their reach! They thought it was all very exciting, and I am pleased to report that nothing except eggs were permantely dyed!
