First Sleepover

I just thought that this was super cute and had to show you all this picture. Andy and I checked on the girls before we went to bed the other night. What we saw was sooo cute, I had to run get the camera. Emma Lee had climbed into Kerri's crib, and they ended up falling asleep together. Aren't they just too precious?!

Baby Artists

So, I got really brave (or stupid, sometimes I can't tell which one!) the other day and decided to pull out the paint and let the girls have some fun art time. Emma Lee has painted before, and she did a great job, really enjoyed it, and was not too messy (when Kerri was too young to know what was going on - now she has to be involved in everything "Sissy" does). Anyway, I thought that they would have fun, which they did. The problem was that Kerri still puts everything in her mouth. (I'm beginning to wonder if its ever going to stop. She will probably be walking down the aisle at her wedding, stuffing her bouquet in her mouth.) So, she lasted for about 3 seconds before she decided that it would be much more fun to paint the inside of her mouth and her face than that plain, old, boring paper. Well, they had a blast and the paint is non-toxic, but I think it will probably be a while before we make anymore attempts at becoming artists.

A Day at the Park

Last week we had a couple of days that were so perfect we couldn't resist spending them outside. On Andy's day off, we decided to go to Blue Jay Point and have a picnic. The girls had a great time playing on the three playgrounds they have there, then we had a little picnic, and headed off in the woods on a trail to the lake. We had a great time, and the girls were completely worn out. I have a feeling that we are going to being spending the majority of our days outside this spring/summer. Kerri begs to go "outsi, outsi" whenever she catches a glismpse through the window/door.

Museum of Life & Science

We had a fun trip to the museum this past week. I was surprised about how much they had for a variety of ages. The girls really had a great time, almost as much fun as their daddy. (I think that he sometimes forgot that the experiments and activities were for the kids!) Along with all the typical science project type exhibits, they also have a outdoor play area, a petting zoo section, and the girls favorite, a butterfly house and a large insect exhibit (definitely, not Mommy's favorite part). Emma Lee was a little frightened by the dinosaur display (not even realistic looking, but really big), but fascinated by all the bugs and spiders ( all too real) - go figure. The one cool part about all the bugs was they had a caterpillar in a display case with a microphone and camera that you could zoom in and rotate. You could actually hear him eating the leaf and see his little mouth chomping away and the leaf disappearing like corn on the cob. It was neat because, lately, one of Emma Lee's favorite books has been The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The highlight was definitely the butterfly house, although Mommy and Daddy didn't want to stay in there for too long (it was a very humid 80+ degrees in there). We will have to go back soon because there was so much to see. Hope you enjoy the pics!

And they're out . . .

We are loving the warmer weather. I really hope it sticks around. The girls have been going completely stir crazy lately. There's just something different from running around inside and running around outside. Yesterday, they enjoyed a day at the park (sorry, I forgot my camera). Today, they played in their sandbox (which they got for their birthday and hadn't had a chance to use yet). They had a blast, despite the stray dog that wandered up (can't wait for our fence). They took a little break from the sand and "rocked in the boat" in the sandbox lid. Too cute!

Friends

We were so excited to have our great friends, Rachel, Josiah, and their precious baby Elizabeth, come stay with us. Rachel and Josiah are working on their deputation with Fellowship International Missions (FIM) and are visiting family and friends to raise interest and support. Check out their website at http://missions.ritchietribe.net. We hadn't seen Elizabeth since she was just a little baby who laid around and slept. It was so cute to watch her and the girls interact. I think Felix became the center of attention, and he is probably ready to hide and sleep for a week. We were all (except for Felix) sad to see them go and already looking forward to when we can visit again. Here are a couple pictures of the girls hanging out together. It is so cool when best friends have babies who can become best friends!
