Emma Lee went to get her first haircut today. On the way she was a little confused, I could almost hear her thoughts remembering all the times I have drilled it in to her head that we are not supposed to cut hair (she had a little incident several months ago when she discovered a pair of scissors in a drawer - fortunately not much damage was done, but Mommy was not happy!). Anyway, she was open to the idea, especially when I told her that afterwards she could show her pretty haircut off to everyone. She was such a good girl, she hopped right up into the chair (afterall, the lady was offering her what Emma Lee calls a "sucker ball" and what everyone else in the world calls a dum dum). It was quite possibly the quickest $10 I've ever spent (no, I didn't spring for the $20 haircut at the fancy just for kids place), it took longer to pay for the haircut than it took for the actual haircut! Basically, she just evened up the back some - it had been looking messyand I think that this will make it looker neater and maybe a little thicker. I think that next time Mommy might try her hand at haircutting, at least until she gets enough to actually do something with. Hopefully, Emma Lee won't get any bright ideas about trying her hand at it again either!

Trip to Cherryville Part I
The girls, Ryan, Joshua and I all went to Cherryville this past weekend for Jeremy's 16th birthday. (Man! That is so hard to believe!) It was an exciting trip that actually went a lot smoother than I expected. Here are a "few" (I have so many cute ones it was hard to decide which ones to post!) pictures of them just playing and hanging out with their grandparents, aunts, and uncles. They also went to the Cherry Blossom festival and enjoyed getting their faces painted. (Emma Lee was real hesitant at first, but decided she wanted a butterfly on her face and that night after bathtime cried when she realized that it was gone. She kept asking where it went and if she could have it back.) It was a great weekend and the girls are ready to do it again!

The new arrival
Just wanted to introduce you to the new addition in the family. This is
our new nephew/cousin - baby James Richard Overall (Andy's sister's baby). Isn't he a cutie?!! He was born on April 23, weighing 6 pounds and 10 ounces and measuring 20 1/2 inches long. We are looking forward to meeting him (although it won't be until this summer). Congratulations Edie and Jason!
